Power point presentation with hyperlinks to pdf files

I am adding hyperlinks to my PP presentation, they all work all the time except for links to pdf files. The first time I set up the links, they work. The next time I try it a window says the file cannot be opened. Everything is in the same folder, and I save my work. I followed the directions on the 'awesome web side to add hyperlinks.
