Printing PPT 2007 missing characters

Hi Folks,
I have a XP Pro updated/ Office 2007 machine. When printing random characters are left off through words sometimes. The only pattern I can see is that it occurs in graphs, tables, and footnotes. Anyone know why this might be going on? Thanks!
