Address Book from Outlook 2002 into Windows Mail
From: Thrawgoon <Thrawgoon_at_discussions.microsoft.com>
Date: Thu, 1 Nov 2007 05:43:00 -0700 My old pc is noy available. I converted my Address Book to a .WAB format and took a copy of it which has been restore to the new pc with Vista Home Premium. However, whenever I try and import it or just look at it, I get the 'you are about to import Windows Address Book contents' and then says it has done it but I still see nothing either opening contacts with Mail or using Windows Contacts - in fact, I just go round in circles. Am I just doing this incorrectly or is there something wrong with the copy I took. There seem to be 2 entries in the restored folder - one with my old userid, an address book icon and a file type of WAB. The other has my old userid.wab follwed by a squiggly line, an unspecified icon and a file type of WAB followed by the same squiggly line. Both are 173KB - it was not a huge address book but does this seem too small?. Any assitance/guidance from those more knowledgable will be much appreciated.
