mail gone

My problem is a bit weird.

I have this new notebook with vista and the mail program that comes with it. I opended it today and nothing was there, only the messages I put in a seperate map that are still unread.
The notification said: not enough memory.

I have a mere 100 GB, that should be enough!

Anyone know what happened?
